BlackSheepLad releases his new single ‘’Better this Christmas’ in aid of The Trussell Trust
Phil says ‘I am delighted to announce that my single ‘Better this Christmas’ is out now and is in aid of The Trussell Trust . At this time, food banks are unfortunately needed more than ever. Between 1 April 2022 and 30 September 2022, food banks in the Trussell Trust’s UK-wide network distributed 1.3 million food parcels to people facing hardship – this is an increase of 52% compared to the same period in 2019. Half a million of these parcels were distributed to children. One in five people referred to food banks in the Trussell Trust’s network are in households where someone is working. For the first time, need for emergency food is outstripping donations as the cost of living emergency is leading to a drastic increase in the number of people turning to food banks for support.
Plus it’s a really good song! It is a bit of a throwback to the classic Christmas songs of the 70s and 80s with an upbeat lyric about hoping for a better future in difficult circumstances. The song has been remixed and has brass parts added to it after a partial release in 2020.
